Why Stand Alone?

The Indiana Drycleaning & Laundry Association consists of Indiana business men and women who are actively engaged in the drycleaning, coin-op, and laundry business. They support this Association to further their own business goals. They organize to protect and develop the interest of the drycleaning and laundry industry.

A Board of Directors, representing the districts of the state, operates under the guidance of the President to administer the policies of the Association.

This combined efort has kept the Association in step with every major industry in the country. Our goal is to develop this organization into a leader in it's field.

Every alert drycleaner and launderer should be a member of this trade association. Membership can assist you in managing your business more efficently, help you produce more profit, and make your job less troublesome overall. All drycleaners, launderers, and coin-ops whether they be large or small, are cordially invited to apply for membership.

Education

A primary purpose of IDLA is to offer assistance in education to the industry. The Association can provide guidance for a more efficient operation of your laundry and drycleaning business. Scheduled seminars on spotting, finishing, counter sales, and other important topics will be offered periodically. Member plants are entitled to a discounted price for
their seminar attattendees. The Association produces a bi-monthly
newsletter which keeps members informed about Association affairs, industry matters, area meetings, and seminars. Member services are featured, while classified ads ads and display advertising are also available in each newsletter.

Annual Convention & Area Meeting

Each year the Association conducts an Annual Convention with top officials in the fields of management, government, and education. This convention involves two days of professional seminars, entertainment, exhibits and fellowship.

The convention is held each year in a location favorable to family participation. Several social events are planned to allow members an oppurtunity to meet and share information with fellow drycleaners from throughout the state.

Ideas from the convention can save/make you thousands!

Joint State Association

IDLA maintains a joint state membership with the International Fabricare Institute of Silver Spring, MD.

This union strives to offer its members the best assistance and information possible within our industry.

Many IFI services are available for members' benefit. Contact IDLA for information.

Legislation & Regulations

One of the major responsibilities of the IDLA is to represent the Drycleaners and Launderers in legislative matters affecting the Industry and its members.

As a member of the State Chamber of Commerce, the IDLA office screens bills introduced to the state legislature. The Association actively works through IFI to defeat legislation adverse to the industry, while supporting legislation which is favorable.

Members will be kept advised as to regulations that E.P.A and O.S.H.A publishes, and how they affect your plant. The IDLA Office maintains a constant flow of information from IFI Headquarters and can help direct and inquiries concerning industry regulations.

Public Relations

The Association is actively engaged in educating the public. It emphasizes the skills, experience, and equipment nessecary for successful drycleaning. It also informs the public of dangers of drycleaning in the home, as well as the problems of maintaining today's fabrics and fashions.

The bi-monthly newsletter serves as a forum for the Industry and the Association.

Current marketing tips are often made available for members to use in their own businesses through news releases provided by the IFI Headquarters. Members may also send these tips to their local newspapers to benefit the public.

Scholarship

IDLA joins with IFI in offering scholarships to the International
Fabricare Institute on an annual basis. A committee is established each year to solicit and evaluate applications for available scholarships. Any member plant may submit applications for individuals
connected with their
organization.
